In 1944, two ladies from the midwest came East, settled on Cape Cod, and opened the Christmas Shop -- a tiny place where Christmas treasures and unique items could be found from May through Christmas Eve. For more than seventy years (over thirty under the ownership of Cape resident Yvette Armstrong), the Christmas Shop thrived, patronized by local residents and vacationers, whose annual visits to the Cape wouldn't be complete without a trip to this little gem of a store on the marsh.
